The contemporary art fair organized by gallerists opens to the public in Buenos Aires’ renovated downtown featuring “resident” and “guest” galleries as well as international participants.

From White Plaster to Colorful Textiles, Dalila Puzzovio (1942, Buenos Aires) has always known how to appreciate broken bodies and dress the living. While some destroy, others build is the title of one of her photographs—a phrase that runs through her remarkable artistic career.

Valentina Quintero: A Day in the Life, the first institutional exhibition in Buenos Aires of the young artist from Mendoza, and Jorge Miño: The Fourth Wall, a proposal that redefines the relationship between photography and space, are exhibited at the Museo Moderno under the curatorship of Raúl Flores.

Fundación Proa presents Los incas. This exhibition invites visitors to debunk myths and rediscover over four centuries of Andean culture.

PAC, the educational platform of the Gachi Prieto Gallery in Buenos Aires, opens the inscriptions for three programs that seek to professionalize contemporary artists and curators; through a collaborative and reflexive learning approach, the aim is to promote the construction of affective and professional networks.

In its 14th anniversary, Leila Tschopp is the winning artist of the 2024 EFG Latin America Art Award in partnership with ArtNexus. The announcement was made at Pinta Miami.

The Departamento 112 gallery -located in Martinez, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina- began by occupying an apartment, then became a garage and finally settled in a disused space that, converted into a hall, provides a view over the entire block.

Malba announced that Rodrigo Moura (Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, 1975) will be the museum's new artistic director. Pinta BAphoto closed its 20th anniversary at La Rural, Buenos Aires, Argentina, after a weekend that brought together the best of photography in the region and was a meeting point for gallery owners, artists, curators, collectors and photography lovers. The fair attracted more than 14,000 visitors during its three days open to the public.

Confines of Paraguay is the initiative of Fernando Allen and Fredi Casco that is part of the Main Section of Pinta BAphoto. The region's most important photography fair Pinta BAphoto opens its doors October 24-27, 2024, at La Rural, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Cecilia Lenardón's Special Project at Pinta BAphoto, curated by Irene Gelfman, presents an installation that pushes the representation of the body through photography to the limit, transforming the static image into a living and performative experience. Entitled Cuatro piezas clave (Four Key Pieces), the work invites us to reflect on the body's boundaries and its capacity to tolerate effort and repetition.

Lorenzo González Baltazar will be part of the NEXT | Out of Focus section with Primor Gallery, in the 20th edition of Pinta BAphoto. He presents his project Sapucay Marica, with photographs that capture the coexistence of the rural and the queer, performance and tradition, the intimate and the collective.

The eighth edition of Video Project, curated by Irene Gelfman, invites us to immerse in the concept of territory through the moving image. In video art we find a sense of curiosity and exploration that challenges our ideas of materiality and expands to embrace the most intimate. In six selected works, the notion of territory addresses bodies, landscapes and symbols, questioning the stability of physical and conceptual limits. The territory becomes a fluctuating space, as critical as the viewer's place.

Pinta BAphoto –the most important photography fair in the region– presents as a new feature the RADAR section, curated by Sebastián Vidal Mackinson. In an interview with Arte al Día, Sebastián reflects on the diversity of approaches in photography today and its growth as a medium capable of dialoguing with other forms of artistic expression.

The National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires inaugurated the exhibition Mabel Rubli. Spatial Engravings and Other Explorations, which brings together in the second floor hall a selection of more than 30 works that review the career of one of the most outstanding Argentinean engravers.

This year, Pinta BAphoto will hold its twentieth edition with new curatorial proposals to continue celebrating photography in Latin America. Based in Buenos Aires, the fair presents the new RADAR section, curated by Sebastián Vidal Mackinson.
